The South Thorne Bay Subdivision is a great place to be if you want a little more space around you with road access, power and phone. STB is located on the other side of the bay from Thorne Bay.  From Thorne Bay you drive 6 miles down the highway until the Goose Creek/ Kassan turnoff.  From there is is approximately 6-10 miles on a gravel road.  This area was logged about 50 years ago and now has nice trees.  The lots are bigger than are found in the Craig/ Klawock area (where lots are a maximum of 1.5 acres usually).  STB lots range from 2-6 acres over varying terrain.  There are no property taxes in this area.  The nearest town and school are located in Thorne Bay and Klawock is 45-60 minutes away.

These two large lots are adjacent and have power, phone and road access.  The front part of the lot is gently sloping with a steep area toward the back.  The front section has had the trees cut down, which could make for easier development.  The lots are located in a quiet area in South Thorne Bay, (near Setter's Lake) and have a southwest orientation. These lots would make a great garden and a nice site for a summer home or for someone who likes a little more space and sun!

These are nice adjacent lots for someone who wants more acreage (hard to get around here).  The lots get great sun, and as the trees on the front part of the lot are cleared you can go straight to gardening.  Just look at all the nice flowers and berries here in the summer photos. South Thorne Bay is approximately 12 miles from Thorne Bay, about 6 miles on the paved highway and about 6 miles on gravel.  Turn off the highway onto the Kassan Road, then take several lefts through the Goose Creek area (follow the tip signs).  Then the road will continue through the forest for about 5 miles until an intersection. Turn left off the road into the south Thorne Bay SD (Kassan is straight).  There are no signs in the subdivision so take this map (or call us, it's easy to get lost in there!)
